Please join us in remembrance of the tragic events of 1974:

Turkey, a large military power, invaded the small defenseless island of Cyprus.

Thousands were killed and 1,000 Cypriots are still missing.

The Greeks in the northern part of the island were forced to move south.

The Turks in the south were forced to the north.

Cyprus was forcibly divided and remains so today.

Since the invasion, the Greek and Cypriot American communities have been strengthening bilateral relations between the United States, Greece, and Cyprus as instrumental to peace and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean, a vital U.S. foreign policy and security interest.
